A grounded perspective on restoring balance — plus the Beaufort County practitioners and shops who practice it.

A Note Before We Begin

Restoring Balance Beyond the Prescription Pad

Physicians around the world have saved people from the brink of death more times than can be counted. These doctors serve an integral role as medical practices evolve and respond to the emergent needs of the times. From gunshot wounds, to kidney transplants, critical accidents, heart failure – it is a great service to mankind to be able to be rescued from such crises.

However, when it comes to restoring balance due to chronic conditions, Western medicine meets its Goliath. Since we live in a litigious society, I must put out this disclaimer that in no way should the words that follow, or any words on this site, serve as medical advice. Contact your trusted physician when making medical decisions. But as a fellow human, I will suggest to you what I consider to be a grounded perspective on what it takes to lead a healthy and vibrant life.

  1. Wake up when the rooster crows and the birds chirp.
  2. Pray with thanksgiving and meditate on your intentions for the day, while surrendering all judgments and offenses.
  3. Watch the sun rise with your naked eyes. This will reset your circadian rhythm, among other integral benefits.
  4. Bathe in filtered water (specifically with chlorine filtered out).
  5. Break your fast with water and lemon.
  6. Perform movements that effectively engage your lymphatic system.
  7. Eat nutritious foods filled with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, fiber, and water.
  8. Follow the 80-20 rule: Aim for 80% alkalizing foods and 20% acidifying foods.
  9. Drink high quality water either 20 minutes before a meal or at least 2 hours after as to not interrupt the effectiveness of your hydrochloric acid levels in your stomach.
  10. Mineralize with the salt of the earth which is sea salt that has at least 82 minerals (not the 2 mineral table salt NaCl).
  11. Avoid seed oils and harmful chemicals, preservatives, food dyes, and additives.
  12. Stay active throughout your day and if you have a desk job take small breaks to stretch and move.
  13. Let your bare feet touch the ground at least 20 minutes a day.
  14. Be sure to stop and smell the roses.
  15. Stop eating 2 hours before going to bed.
  16. Avoid excessive EMF radiation.
  17. After the sun goes down, refrain from watching screens with blue light (tv, phone, computer, etc.)
  18. Go to sleep, ideally around 9pm, to receive peak sleep hormones.
  19. Forgive often and be kind always.
  20. Most importantly, be easy on yourself and let the miracle of simplicity guide your life.

Disease creeps in when dis-ease becomes the norm. Become mindful of your breathing and any tension held throughout your body. Are you consuming an excess of stress, whether by food, drink, narrow minded news, careless conversations, etc. How toxic is your environment: the air you breathe, fabrics you wear, products you use, ground you walk on, music you listen to, movies you watch, thoughts you think?

Remember you are not a prisoner to this world. You were born free as a marvelous wonder and child to a Creator, that no scientist in the world can fully comprehend. You have a sacred purpose and if you would simply be the love that you are, that purpose will find you. Live intentionally. Love endlessly. And never cease to explore.
